If you are the lady who tends to wear the same dress again and again rather than buying some new dresses every week then you must be washing your clothes on a weekly basis so that you can keep them look clean and new. But the problem with washing is that sometimes the apparel you put in the washer gets shrunk and spoils your day with its shrinkage. Clothes are as sensitive as a child and when you are going to wash them on Sundays and maybe on another scheduled day then it have been observed that sometimes you end up with a loud scream after when you find that your favorite dress has been shrunk in the washer.
Not every fabric is permanently shrunk as there is a chance to get it back with little bit effort and patience. Before you throw away the dress and set on the sofa with those angry expressions on your face, you can try these few steps that may help you to get your dress back into its previous form. You would not need to get anything from the supermarket to get your dress back, in fact, you will need only a few things that you would already have in your washing area.
First of all, go back into your washing area and fill some cool water into a tub or sink. Do not use either extremely cold water or extremely hot water for washing the shrunk shirt again. If you use hot water then it will tighten the fiber even more so that the process will become nearly impossible to get your dress back. If you use extremely cold water then it will not dissolve the conditioner in it that we are going to use next.
After filling up normal water into a tub, the next step is to mix some hair conditioner into it and then mix it in the water with your hands so that the water can dissolve the conditioner into it. You can use any regular conditioner that is available at the moment and you do not need to get some special kind of conditioner for this particular work. The reason for using a conditioner is that it softens the fabric and allows you to stretch the dress easily without breaking the threads.
After mixing the conditioner into the water, it is time to put your dress into the tub. Just spread the dress all over the tub and push it down gradually so that the water can pour into it. If you just throw it into the tub then it will not absorb the conditioner well so it is a good idea to push it gradually and make sure that it is soaking the water inside the fabric. Let it be there for at least 15 minutes and then take it out of the water.
Now when you have done approximately all the necessary work, it is time to do the last thing to get your dress back. Put the dress out of the water and start pushing its edges from bottom to top. Be gentle and do it until you get your dress to its original size. Do the same thing with sleeves of your dress.
